Hello, My name is Troy Funk. I am the owner of the TNT Moto UA-cam channel. The channel is about my personal Dirt bike restorations, rebuilds, and rides. At the end of these builds, the bikes are sold for the cost of the build. There is no profit made from the sale of the bikes. So come along for the ride and witness how i restore and rebuild these great machines. Don't forget to hit that subscribe button , share with friends and leave some comments.

Exquisite restoration! Lovely results, as it looks better than new. Nicely done, Sir!!!
I would love to have that bike
Unbelievable detail. Well done 👍
Where’d u get all the parts? I got an 85 aswell im trying to restore but its almost impossible to find parts
@@that_kawi_rider7906 ebay and partzilla
Absolutely beautiful 😍 👏👏👏
Bought that particular model brand new in 1989. Retail was $4,098, I paid $3,600 cash with heavy springs. The retail price increase between 1988 to 1989 was almost $800. Great bike, except for the Inverted fork which was grim.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Tell me you don't know what timelapse is without telling me you dont know what timelapse is
Most people have no idea that time lapse is frames per second. They think it is full video condensed for quicker viewing. Its just in the title to get more viewers.
Great video. It’d be a little better with commentary
@davidruberto4118 stopped doing commentary a while back. Was not getting the views. No talking and the views went up.
Brings me back. Bought the 83 brand new. It was a sweet ride after getting off 2 strokes.
Absolutely stunning work and an absolutely gorgeous machine top notch job 🤙🤙🤙🤙

Thank you for doing this build and recording it. Great job! I used to own an 87 CR-500. Love the sounds and smells of the two strokes.

Outstanding, that thing belongs in a museum!
84 to 88 the rm's had a very Asian vibe going on.
Where do you buy the box that has a hose and a brush. It sams "bikemaster" on it.

That thing was a beast !
I had a Pw80 do the same thing 😂 sure we just left it in gear and pushed it backwards and forwards, then it worked fine 🇬🇧
How long did this restoration take?
@@user-qg5lj9oh1t6 months. My regular job takes 12 hours of my day so not alot of time to work on the bike each day
Tendrias algun video del montaje de la valvula de escape hpp y su ajuste? Gracias
That's a real man.......kicking a CR500 with a New Balance! I learned to ride on a 1983 CR480 at age 14. My first brand new bike was a 1988 YZ250. Well done resto sir. Thanks for bringing back memories.
Sounds like it's in 1st gear the whole time reason the long rod 87 was such a superior bike with a great power band
For really incredible cleaning, add a little Dawn dish-washing soap to the water.

Thankyou
IMO should have taken the dust shield off the bearings that are inside the engine........so the fluid can get inside the bearing....I cant imagine those bearings will last like that.
@@yami4g63 bearings are design3d that way. They are open on one side
"the problem is definitely that the motor is running backwards" lol no doubt!!!!!
I had an 1988 YZ 490, bad ass bike, fast as Hell, until your wound out in 6 seconds! they should have made them with 6 or 7 gears, 4 raps out way to fast! need a trench dug? grab the 490 and dump the clutch, you can plant your garden very easily because you'll have a 4" deep trench with just the twist of the throttle! great for Hill climbing too! I couldn't keep a back fender on mine, everyone that rode it flipped it over backwards when they twisted the throttle! not for the novice rider!
So. Beautiful ❤
Have always loved the straight two tone CRs they were ahead of their time.
Why are you making videos when you don't know yourself what you're doing? How are you gonna show anybody else? What to do when you don't know yourself? It makes no d*** sense. What are you wanting to show people the wrong way to do s***Or something is that what your purpose is because that's what you're doing
Dude, you have absolutely no idea what you are doing. You should have someone there with you who does or you're gonna ruin that motor
And why is it you feel this way. What precisely is it that i have done wrong? The rotor nut loosened off while the bike was being ridden and the rotor welded itself to the crank. What is your suggestion for removal?
Dude, those aren't Phillips, head screws. They're JIS screws Japanese industrial standard. It looks like a Phillips, but it's not. That's why they are always stripped out.Because people use a phillips screwdriver on them instead of a J.I.S. screwdriver
Had the air cooled 84 cr500 and its much lighter than the liquid cooled bikes. In Texas the air heats up quickly so liquid cooling is better. Both fun.
where are you getting the factory parts or who are you getting the factory parts for the CR500. I have a 98 i am doing and seem to have a hard time getting parts in Canada?
I buy everything off ebay or usa sellers. then i have them shipped to a mail box in the usa. i live close to the border and i am able pick my parts up and bring them back. most of the time i pay little or no tax
cool i loved mine i could sneak up on deer with it
I could see these selling for $50K when us Gen Xer's start getting into retirement. What a masterpiece, hats off to your attention to detail and hard work.
Thank you
Hi I am restoring 1985 CR500 as well and just ran into a problem with the right side of the case as you may know magnesium rots and its pitted so I'm in need of Aluminum right side water pump case where do I find them and what will fit. I would appreciate any help or someone I can contact for info or parts thank you
As far as I know, no one is producing one anything that resembles the 85 cover anymore. You will have to update to a 90+ cover. With the removable clutch cover . You can get knock off Chinese built covers on ebay for $50. The quality is very good. Or you can buy a new oem one. But if you do that make sure you are buying from a reputable dealer or you could just be over paying for a Chinese cover. The outer cover you can find lots of aftermarket options or used on ebay. You will also need to change the hose to your cylinder. Look up hvac 19764. This hose can be trimmed up on both ends for a good fit. Also the Chinese cover may need to have the hole for the kick starter shaft opened up slightly. I just wrapped a piece of Emory cloth around a socket that would fit in the hole and hooked it up to my cordless drill. Gave it a few spins and then checked the fit. Did this a half dozen times and got a better fit than my worn oem cover. Hope this helps
@@TNTMOTO TY so much I didn't even know you could be OEM 1985 cover.
@ZAZA-zu4ld you can't get a oem 85 cover. Only a 90+ oem
